●Avoid oil-based products as they can break down the tan.

●Limit exposure to chlorine and saltwater.

●Avoid excessive exfoliation to prevent uneven fading.

  • Here's a list of products and ingredients to steer clear of:

Oil-based products: Oil can break down the tan and cause streaking or patchiness. Avoid using oil-based lotions, moisturizers, or makeup.

Bar soaps: Some bar soaps contain harsh ingredients that can strip away the tan. Opt for gentle, pH-balanced cleansers instead.

Exfoliating scrubs: Avoid using exfoliating scrubs or loofahs for a few days after your spray tan. These products can remove the outer layer of skin and cause your tan to fade prematurely.

Alcohol-based products: A Alcohol can dry out the skin and cause the tan to fade faster. Look for alcohol-free alternatives in skincare products and makeup.

Anti-aging products containing retinoids: Retinoids can accelerate skin cell turnover, leading to faster fading of the tan. Avoid using products containing retinoids until after your tan has fully developed and faded.

Chlorine: Chlorine in swimming pools can strip away the tan. If you're planning to swim, apply a waterproof sunscreen or barrier cream to protect your tan.

Hot baths and showers: Hot water can open up pores and cause the tan to fade faster. Stick to lukewarm water when bathing or showering.

Hair removal products: Waxing, shaving, or using depilatory creams can remove the outer layer of skin and cause the tan to fade unevenly. If possible, do any hair removal treatments before getting the spray tan.
